Budding Karate Exponents Simran S. Khanna, Hari Narayanan, Raghav Kadambi, Rishi S. Khanna and Sriram Narayanan won awards for Karate at the prestigious World Martial Arts Federation competitions held at the Reggie Lewis Arena in Boston.[more]
Sukanya Roy Wins Scripps National Trophy 14 year old Sukanya Roy from South Abington, Pennsylvania, the 2010 MetLife South Asian Spelling Bee National First Runner-Up took home the Scripps National Trophy with her spelling of the championship word: cymotrichous.[more]

Getting To Know Padmashree Lila Poonawalla Life was not easy for Lila Poonawalla when she came to India as a refugee from Hyderabad, Pakistan with her grandparents, mother and four brothers. The entire family had to survive on the pension from their father's life insurance policy after he died in a train accident. Raghav Mishra Wins 1st Place Gold Medal At 1st Global GENIUS Olympiad Raghav Mishra of Shrewsbury, MA, represented the USA at the International Olympiad on Environment (GENIUS Olympiad, i.e. Global Environmental Issues and Us). He secured the 1st place and was awarded the Gold Medal (along with an ACER Net Book). Raghav also won the 'Most Knowledgeable' award.[more]

Narahari Bharadwaj Wins 2011 MetLife South Asian Spelling Bee Narahari Bharadwaj of Plano, TX, correctly spelled the word ‘schindylesis’ during the 2011 South Asian Spelling Bee Finals to clinch the title of National Champion. During the event on August 12, Narahari along with 19 other finalists competed for the title. Stuti Mishra from West Melbourne, FL was the first runner-up and Chetan Reddy from Plano, TX was the second runner-up.[more]
