The 2011 Annual Conference Of Association For India’s Development
Association for India’s Development (AID) organized its annual conference at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT) over the Memorial Day weekend of May 28-30, 2011. The conference was attended by more than 150 people, from 27 locations (chapters) across the United States, as well as several full-time workers and partners from India.

The inaugural 'Hudson Cricket Cup tournament' (HCCT) concluded successfully at Greeley Park, NH on May 14th. 'Waltham XI' took the honor of being the HCCT 2011 champion by beating 'Nashua Nukes'.

Harish Hande Gets Standing Ovation At FORSE2011
Harish Hande, the closing keynote speaker at the 5th Annual Forum for Social Entrepreneurs organized jointly by the Sloan Business Club at MIT and the TIE Social Enterprise special interest group, received a long standing ovation for his inspiring speech. Aligarh Alumni Association of New England recognized Lokvani and ATFS for community service and academics at the 9th Annual Sir Syed Mushaira held on Sept 16. The event featured local poets as well as poets from India and Pakistan who delighted the audience with their creations.

Ekal Vidyalaya Officials Visit New England
On the evening of Sept. 25, three senior officials of the Ekal Vidyalaya movement were in Lexington, MA. The officials were Mr. Shyam Gupta, Dr. C. Satheesh Kumar and Mr. Sankaran. They had already been to Rhode Island under the guidance of Mr. Ram Nehra, who is the president of the New England chapter of Ekal Vidyalaya.

Saheli Second Annual Fundraiser A Huge Success
Saheli, an organization that supports South Asian victims of domestic violence, held its 2nd Annual Fundraiser. It was a Bollywood themed event with awards for best costume. Very appropriately "Gandhi" costume won the first prize.

TAGB's Deepavali Dhamaka 2011 was celebrated in great grandeur on November 20, 2011 at Littleton High School. Around 1000 members attended Deepavali Dhamaka 2011, which was completely filled with a spectacular variety of cultural items like multi-color fire crackers and sparkles.
