Twin Treats Of Tradition – Vocal And Mridangam Arangetram Twin siblings Divya and Varun Chandramouli presented a joint arangetram (debut performance) with a very fulfilling performance. Divya presented a vocal recital for over three hours accompanied by Varun on the mridangam, Kum. Rasika Murali on the violin and Dr. Ravi Balasubramaniam on the ghatam.[more]
Arangetram: Divya Padmanabhan Divya Padmanabhan, a recent high school graduate from Lexington, is a student of Smt. Jothi Raghavan. She has been learning Bharathanatyam from Jothi for 8 years in Vazhuvoor style and prior to that was a student of Smt. Nina Gulati. The arangetram was held at The Performing Arts Center at Littleton, MA on July 9, 2011.[more]
Arangetram - Monica Lakshmi Swaminathan Monica enthralled the audience by her scintillating performance. Each of the items performed, clearly reflected the several years of hard work and training invested by this young dancer under the meticulous guidance of her guru Ranjani Saigal.[more]
My Arangetram Experience: Bhavana Chalupadi When I heard my cue for my Pushpanjali, I pumped myself for my once in a lifetime experience, my Arangetram. Though I was hyperventilating and fidgeting, I allowed my legs to propel me on stage gracefully. At first it felt as though it was another dance practice with the musicians at my Guru,Smt. Arangetram: Ananya Mahalingam-Dhingra I had the pleasure of attending the Bharatanatyam arangetram of Ananya Mahalingam-Dhingra, disciple of Gurus Meena Subramanyam and Roja Kannan, at the Regis College Fine Arts Center in Weston, MA on Sept. 17th. It was elegant and aesthetic in all aspects of its presentation from the foyer décor, costuming, music, and the traditionally delineated dance items.[more]
Arangetram: Naveena Shanmugam Naveena Shanmugam, a disciple of the well-respected and immensely talented Smt. Sridevi Thirumalai transcended the stage and danced into the realm of the sublime in a 3-hour performance in Ashland High school in front of a large audience of family, friends and well-wishers.[more]
