| | | Details: | ASHA-BOSTON, the chapter of ASHA in Boston was started at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, in March 1995. Its members consist of students and professionals in the Boston area. The aim of the group has been to mobilize the substantial local Indian community to collectively support and provide financial assistance to grassroots level educational movements in India. We specifically target programs for basic education for under-privileged children in India.
ASHA-Boston is a non-profit voluntary organization with tax exemption under Section 401(c)3 (tax id 770-45-9884). The group only supports apolitical and secular organizations. We are a relatively structure-free organization. However, we do have two semi-official posts in order to interface with more structured organizations from time to time.
