Dr. Neena Prasad: Live Concert of Mohiniyattam Dance
Rasik is excited to partner with The Dance Complex for this season's concert, featuring internationally acclaimed Mohiniyattam artiste, Dr. Neena Prasad, accompanied by a live music ensemble.
Recognized for her extraordinary talent in both performance and choreography, Dr. Prasad has earned widespread critical recognition in India and internationally. Her contributions to Mohiniyattam have significantly enhanced its movement vocabulary, resulting in the development of a distinct style or tradition within its broader context. In 2021, she was award the Sangeet Natak Akademi award, India's highest honour in the field of performing arts, for her contributions to the field of Mohiniyattam dance.
Rasik, together with The Dance Complex, takes great pride in introducing Dr. Neena Prasad to the Boston audience. She will be accompanied by Changanasseri Madhavan Nampoothiri (Vocal), Ramesh Babu (Mridangam), Kalamandalam Arundas (Idakka), and Shyam Kalyan (Violin).
