Sri Suryanarayana Pooja & Surya Namaskaram
Program Details: 1/19/03 4-6:30pm - Sri Surya Narayana Pooja & Surya Namaskaram Makara Sankranthi is celebrated in Mid January, to thank the "Sun God" for good Harvest. Also, Uthrayana begins on Makara sankranthi day. It is believed that six months from Sankranthi day(the Uthrayana period)is considered a good period for performing various functions; i.e. marriage, Upanayanam, etc. Surya Namaskaram is normally performed on Sundays(Ravivar). This is performed for our good health, energy, longevity of life and especially for good vision. As per Vedas, "He who aspires to be hale and healthy should pray to Loerd Surya". Hence, everybody is requested to participate in this function and pray with one and all for the good health of everyone. Prasad/food will be served after the pooja.
