Women of the World Songs from India, and other countries, will be presented by these 10 exceptionally talented musicians and singers, all former alumni of Berklee, who are from India, Italy, Mexico, USA, and Japan. The group has performed at Carnegie Hall and and other prestigious venues, and has toured Japan, Africa and other countries. Annette Philip, originally from India, and presently a professor of voice at the Berklee College of Music, brings her international group of 10 musicians and vocalists, all former Berklee alumni, for an evening to remember at the National Heritage Museum in Lexington. It is one of the most innovative groups out of the Berklee College of Music. These exceptionally talented singers and musicians from other countries play the beat and sing in Hindi as if they are from there. She has since become an established recording artist, lending her voice to albums, jingles and voice-overs in nine languages, for television and radio, and such companies as Indian Airlines, Panasonic, Bausch and Laumb.. She also finds inspiration in musical theatre; performing, writing, and recording for various productions in India, besides continuing to perform live. In 2003, she co-founded Artistes Unlimited (AU) in New Delhi, India, a performing arts ensemble, promoting collaboration among musicians in the city. With a vast repertoire spanning genres of Indian and Western Classical, Sufi and folk music, AU is now India’s largest and most diverse youth platform for musicians, with a rotating line up of over 250 artistes. Presently she is also a professor of voice at the Berklee College of Music, teaching voice to students from India and around the world. She has been privileged to share the stage with artists such as Shubha Mudgal, Pandit Anindo Chaterjee, Ghatam Giridhar Udupa, grammy winner Bobby McFerrin, and others.
