Bhagavad Gita Chapter 4 - What Every Hindu Must Know! Chapter 4 is so packed full of information that it should be required reading for every Hindu and Vedantin. It starts lofty with Lord Krishna shedding his work-a-day clothes and asserting his status as the original teacher of Vedanta to the Sun, from whom it was passed down through the generations from teacher to student. Lord Krishna goes on to explain the concept of Avatar – how He Himself takes birth from His own Maya when there is decay of righteousness in the world. This knowledge alone would be enough to justify a chapter but, Krishna proceeds to educate Arjuna on several fundamentals of Vedanta.
