BU DHEEM: Indian Classical Arts Association presents MAYA: Illusions of the World Maya is generally defined to be an illusion. She encompasses and controls the existence of the world. In Hinduism, Maya can also be interpreted as the guise of Devi, or the Divine Mother. Maya possesses the powers of the gods and has the ability to create visions in the form of dreams. Through the Classical Indian dance forms of Bharatanatyam, Kuchipudi, Odissi, and Kathak, and Kuchipudi, the dancers will portray the illusion of both the realm of the humans and the realm of the gods.
