Chengottai Sri. Hariharasubramanian Nama Sankirtanam Program Sampradaaya bhajan by Chengottai Sri. Hariharasubramanian Sri. Hariharasubramanian is a popular sampradaya bhajan artist in the industry today. He is very unique in the sense that he has had formal training in both Carnatic music as well as Sampradaya Bhajan. He scrupulously observes the nityakarmaanushtaanams, unchavruti, bhajans, dolotsavam etc., Hailing from a very traditional Indian Music family, Sri Hariharasubramanian has devoted his entire life to learning sampradya bhajans from an eminent music maestro. He had his initial training in vocal music for about ten years under the late Guru Sri Parameswara Bhagavatar, a veteran musicologist. He underwent further extensive training for three years under Sri Srimushnam V. Rajarao, a vocal and mrudangam exponent and Smt. Padma Chandilyan, a renowned musician of Chennai. Sri Hariharasubramanian is an extremely talented musician at this very young age. But for his passion for devotional singing and bhajans, he could have very easily become a top notch professional carnatic artist. It is indeed a great blessing for traditional (sampradya) bhajan and devotional music world that Sri Hariharasubramanian chose to dedicate his prodigious talent to bhakti and bhajans. When such extraordinary talent and utter devotion combine, it becomes an out-of-the-world experience for the devotees. He came to the U.S in 2008 for the Ati Rudram conducted at Sri Sringer Sadana Center in Stroudsburg, PA and captured the audience for 10 days with different forms of sampradya bhajans. He has a very good grasp of the paddatis like unchavruti, deepa pradakshina, akhanda bhajan and free form singing of bhajans. Amrita TVconducted a sampradya bhajan idol and he was one of the judges along with Smt Sowmya and Sri Srikumar.
