Summer Theatre Workshop
The Connecticut Valley Hindu Temple Society is sponsoring a dance-theater production, 'Gajamukham - The Story of Ganesha the Auspicious', which will be staged on Sept 7th 2002. This theater workshop is related to that production and will train participants to perform as actors. In keeping with classical dance-theater tradition, the art of dramatic representation by means of mimetic facial expressions and gestures rather than words will be emphasized. Recitation of rhythmic syllables and some chanting of mantras will be taught. Participants will learn physical movements as well.
