Carnatic Music By The Carnatica Brothers K.N. SHASHIKIRAN AND P. GANESH Accompanied by local talents Suhas Rao (Violin) and Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan (Mridangam) K.N. Shashikiran is one of the Carnatica Brothers is a child prodigy, an established vocalist and a world record holder for nonstop duo singing, who has a vast experience of over 3500 concerts including lecture-demonstrations, jugalbandhis, and fusions in prominent organizations in India, USA, Canada, UK, Gulf, Singapore, and Malaysia. He has been the brain behind several innovative concepts in globally promoting carnatic music such as the world’s first CD ROM Nadanubava. P.Ganesh (vocalist and chitraveena player) is a child prodigy & sings with Shashikiran as Carnatica Brothers and has performed across the world. He is also an exponent of chitraveena. He has created history by performing nonstop for a record duration in the vocal and chitraveena. He is also a music composer and has performed jugalbandhis and fusions. Suhas Rao (a senior at Westwood High School) Winner of many awards in major competitions like Cleveland Aradhana & CMANA of NJ, a versatile performer on violin, has been receiving training in violin from Tara Anand, vocal from Geeta Murali in the U.S. and advanced training from Prof. T.R. Subramaniam, Sri Chitravina N. Ravikiran and Smt. A. Kanyakumari in Chennai. He has performed in the U.S. and India as solo violinist and has accompanied eminent artists like Chitravina N. Ravikiran, Prof. Trichy Sankaran, Kiranavali Vidyashankar, Radha Venkatachalam and V.K Raman. In 2007, he was awarded the Traditional Arts Apprenticeship grant from the Mass Cultural Council. Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan, a disciple of Sri P. Srinivasa Iyer of Madras. hails from the famous Mridangam school of Padmashri Palghat T.S. Mani Iyer, has taken advanced lessons from Padmashri Palghat R. Raghu. Mali has accompanied local artists & visiting artists from India like Sri T.R.Subramaniam, Shri R.K. Shrikantan, Smt. R. Vedavalli, Alapuzha Sri. Venkatasan, Sri. V. Subramaniam & has also performed in world music concerts with Sri Sandip Burman and Shri R. Prasanna.
