The Untouchable - Movie The Untouchable by Benoît Jacquot (France, 2006, 82 min). On her birthday, Jeanne’s mother reveals that her father is Indian, a Hindu she met on her travels. An “Untouchableâ€, her mother says. Jeanne is an actress and immediately abandons the rehearsals of Brecht’s “Saint Joan of the Stockyardsâ€, which her lover is directing, to get to India immediately. Yet first she must take a role in a mainstream film (which she had earlier resisted because of a demeaning sex scene) to finance the trip. One, which she hopes will give her existence new meaning by searching out the man who gave her life. French with English subtitles.
