Bay Chamber Concerts & Ragamala Music and Dance Theater
Bay Chamber Concerts is producing a performance and a workshop with the Ragamala Music and Dance Theater, January 18 and 19, 2007. Ragamala's work bridges Indian cultures both ancient and modern. Rooted in Bharatanatyam, a classical dance form from southern Indian Ragamala blends dance, music and poetry.
The 90 minute participatory workshop on January 18 at 7:00 PM in the Camden Hills Regional High School in Rockport, will introduce participants to the basics of Bharatanatyam dance and also to creating the intricate patterns of a Kolam. Then, return to the Strom Auditorium on January 19th for a 7:30 PM to see the company in performance.
