Lakshmi Vishwanathan, Bharatnatyam Dance Dancer, choreographer, scholar, and author Lakshmi Vishwanathan is a virtuoso in the art of Abhinaya (mime), in which the dancer-like a painter or a sculptor-fills space with color, mood, and meaning. Vishwanathan uses classical Indian text and melodies to express emotions of love- ranging from desire, anticipation, disappointment and euphoria to jealousy, dejection, and despair.
