Moving Beyond Boundaries Health Summit Moving Beyond Boundaries is a one-day summit on health, cultural competencies, health disparities, awareness, advocacy, empowerment, education and support. The program features a luncheon keynote by Patricia Nalls, founder and Executive Director of Washington D.C.’s Women’s Collective, and presentations by Lance Dronkers, The Posse Foundation, Catherine Vuky, Ph.D., Clinical Psychologist, South Cove Community Health Center and Urooj Arshad, Advocates for Youth. Separate tracks are offered on Asian cultural competency and health disparities. The event is open to the public and the media. The summit is held as part of the 2nd annual National Asian and Pacific Islander HIV/AIDS Awareness Day, which includes events in San Francisco, Los Angeles, Honolulu, Chicago and Washington, DC. To mark this historic event, which is officially recognized by the U.S. Department of Health & Human Services, Boston-based MAP for Health will bring attention to A&PI healthcare disparities and culturally-appropriate approaches for providing Asian healthcare.
