The 1984 Bhopal Chemical Disaster has killed over 22,000 people in the past 21 years. The disaster resulted from a leak of 27 tons of toxic gas from a badly managed and maintained American-owned pesticide plant.
No warning was given as the toxic gas crept into surrounding communities.
We will come together to remember the dead and to call for Dow Chemical to clean up the site that is still toxic and continues to claim victims every week. For more information visit www.bhopal.net and www.studentsforbhopal.org.
