Nazranah & 35th Parallel concert The Forest Hills Educational Trust present Sunday, November 20 at 4 pm Nazranah + 35th Parallel In Forsyth Chapel at historic Forest Hills Cemetery 95 Forest Hills Avenue, Jamaica Plain Tanya Mohammad Jacobs sings traditional Urdu love songs backed by the hip, electric sound of her band, Nazranah, deepening and modernizing her traditional sound. Their fusion reaches out to Indian music savants, jazz fans, and followers of Radiohead and Jagjit Singh alike. They’re joined by 35th Parallel, playing oud and tabla in a fusion of MediterrAsian Jazz. They take their name from the latitude that runs through the Meditteranean, the Middle East, and South Asia. On Sunday, November 20 at 4 pm, both bands appear in Forsyth Chapel at Forest Hills Cemetery, the unexpectedly intimate, acoustically rich space where the Forest Hills Educational Trust presents its eclectic concert series on Sunday afternoons.
