Ganesh-Kumaresh - Violin Concert / MITHAS
mpeccable, remarkable, powerful, precise...the former youthful violin prodigies have matured to the very top of their profession....

Manargudi Easwaran, mridangam
S.V. Ramani, ghatam

World renowned violinists Ganesh and Kumaresh have been thrilling audiences since1972 when they first appeared in concert at the ages of 7 and 5. Raised in an established musical family, they developed their high technical proficiency at a young age. As gifted prodigies, they soon acquired a profound sense of ragas (melodic patterns) and swarams (improvisations). In 1983, their exceptional skills were recognized by the former Chief Minister Tamilnadu, Sri. M. G. Ramachandran, who declared them State Artistes of Tamilnadu. Today, the internationally famed brothers are in great demand for festivals and performances. In concert, their unique blend of tradition and individualistic creativity has been described as a transformative experience for both young and old. Indeed, Ganesh and Kumaresh have brought modern energy to the nuance of Carnatic music. This rich classical tradition, which dates to 2000 BC, is now revealed anew through these articulate brother artists.
