Taken from www.mfa.org Music CONCERTS IN THE COURTYARD: Kiran Ahluwalia 7:30 pm August 17, 2005 Kiran Ahluwalia is a phenomenal performer of vocal music based in Toronto and New York City. More precisely, she is a performer of two distinct styles of vocal music from the Indian subcontinent- ghazals and Punjabi folk songs. Her second recording, Beyond Boundaries, released in November 2003, was the recipient of the JUNO Award for Best World Music Recording in 2004. And on her latest CD, Kiran Ahluwalia, she further cements her Canadian roots on two new collaborations with Cape Breton Celtic fiddler Natalie MacMaster.
