MITHAS Utsav – Day 1 May 21st, 1 PM Deepak Ram, Flute Jerry Leake, Tabla Born in South Africa, Deepak Ram’s earnest love for North Indian Classical Music and flute took him to Mumbai to study flute under such greats like Sri Suryakant Limaye and Pandit Vijay Raghav Rao, finally becoming a disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia. He continues to perform hindustani classical music and has won great acclaim in African and Indian fusion jazz. May 21st, 4 PM Padma Talwalkar, Vocal Sudhanshu Kulkarni, Harmonium Satyajit Talwalkar, Tabla Padma Talwalkar has trained in Khyal in Gwalior, Kirana and the Jaipur Gharanas. Her years of training under doyens like Moghubai Kurdikar and Pandit Gajananrao Joshi and her association with Kishori Amonkar has enabled her to create a blend of several styles while retaining each of their uniqueness.
