Shakthi: The Strength to Rise Again

A benefit concert to help children affected by the tsunamis in South Asia

Sandeep Ranade was trained with Shmt. Shobha Abhyankar, and belongs to the 'Mewati' Gharana. He also had the fortune of receiving guidance from her son, the internationally acclaimed singer Pt. Sanjeev Abhyankar. He began singing at the age of four, and gave his first public performance at the age of six. He has been the recipient of numerous awards including top recognitions from the Acharya Vishwanath Dev Sarma Art Foundation, All India Radio and Alliance Francaise de Poona and has performed extensively in India and abroad. Harshal Tole started learning tabla under Pt. Gopalrao Wadegaonkar (disciple of Ustad Amir Hussain Khan Sahib) of Farrukhabad Gharana at the tender age of 4. Winner of several regional and national competitions, including the ones held by All India Radio, Harshal has won the hearts of the audience. He has accompanied internationally famed artists such as Pt. Tarun Bhattacharya, Pt. Vidyadhar Vyas, Pandit Raghunath Seth, Pt. Bhajan Sopori, Mrs. Kumkum Sanyal and Pandit Mohan Singh.

Shekhar Gothoskar learnt playing harmonium under Shri Mohile. He has accompanied various vocalists in and around the Boston area for Hindustani classical and light classical music.
