Brothers And Others: The Impact of September 11th on Muslims, Arabs, & South Asians in America
(Nicolas Rossier, 2002, 54 mins.)

The atrocities witnessed by the world on September 11th were hateful acts by terrorists who chose to view their victims not as people but as symbols of a perceived evil. As the U.S. government moved to secure the safety of the homeland, thousands of Arabs, Muslims and South Asians were jailed without evidence or due process. Brothers and Others: The Impact of September 11th on Muslims, Arabs, & South Asians in America is a video documentary that follows a number of immigrant and American families as they struggle under the heightened climate of suspicion, FBI and INS investigations and economic hardships.

The panel discussion following the screening will offer a multilayered perspective on the issues of ensuring homeland security, guaranteeing civil rights and liberties, and gauging the impact of U.S. war on terrorism both internally and abroad.
