Savita Rao / Carnatic Vocal
Savita Rao: Born in a family of music connoisseurs, Savita began learning Carnatic music at an early age from her mother and later from Dr (Ms) Radha Venkatachalam and Prof. T.R.Subramanian. She has an advanced degree in karnatic music from Gandharva Mahavidyala and has been performing for All India Radio and Doordarshan, Delhi as a Graded artiste. Savita was awarded the Government of India Scholarship in karnatic music (vocal) by the Center for Cultural Resources & Training. She won top prizes in a number of competitions conducted by many organizations including the “Best Female Vocalist” award from the Music Academy, Chennai and has participated in festivals such as the Yuva Mahotsava by Sahitya Kala Parishad, Delhi. Savita has given well-appreciated concert performances both in India and the US. She has received accolades especially for her ragam-tanam-pallavi delineations. Savita has an MBA from the University of Dallas and is currently a resident of Boston.

Mahalingam Santhanakrishnan: Mali is a disciple of Sri P. Srinivasa Iyer of Madras, a retired A.I.R. artist, who is a disciple of the illustrious Padmashree Palghat T.S. Mani Iyer. Mali has been learning and performing on the mridangam for more than 20 years. Mali's forte is his seamless accompanying style that supports and embellishes the main artist's rendering of the compositions and improvisations. Mali has accompanied many leading local artists as well as renowned senior visiting artists from India such as Sri T.R. Subramanyam, Smt. R. Vedavalli, Sri V. Subrahmanyam, Sri R. Prasanna, Alapuzha Sri Venkatesan, and Sri V.K. Raman among others. He has also performed in fusion concerts, notably with Sri Sandip Burman. Mali is a computer professional and lives in Boston area.

K.V.S. Vinay: Hails from a musical family. He is the grandson of Sangeetha Kalanidhi late Sri T.K. Jayarama Iyer, violinist and composer. Vinay had his initial training from Mrs. Vanaja Ararvamuthan and subsequently trained under late Sri V. Janakiraman and Sri Kovai B. Dakshinamurthy of All India Radio, Chennai. A concert performer for 20 years, Vinay has had the privilege of accompanying several leading musicians and performed as a successful solo artiste. He has featured on national radio and TV in India and has won many awards including an Indian government scholarship for training in music. Vinay is an economist by profession and lives in the New York area.
