Rhythm Underfoot: An Evening of Percussive Dance Live music and percussive dance will carry you on a tour around the world from India to Ireland and back home again. Many cultures around the world use their feet to create rhythms. Percussive dancers are both visual and aural performers. While their body movements may be graceful, flexible, playful, and strong, their footwork is rhythmic and precise. Footwork functions as a unique percussive instrument when interacting with musicians and drummers on stage. Join Springstep for an evening of percussive dance performances by Kieran Jordan and Friends (Irish Step Dance), Gretchen Hayden, founder and director of Chhandika (Indian Kathak Dance), and Jill Braverman (tap dancer), with other special guests to be announced.
