A Life without fear
a 22-minute docu-drama created by Sakhi for South Asian Women that follows the life of an immigrant woman in New York City who is married to a physically and emotionally abusive man. We see what happens when she tries to talk about the violence to her neighbor, friend, and family members. We witness the effects of the abuse on her young daughter. We watch her daily struggles and her final escape. Through the video, we begin to understand the problems battered women confront in the community. Discussion to follow.
