25th Annual Boston Marathon Jimmy Fund Walk Seshu Strong Why we are walking? In 2012 we lost our loved one, Seshu Kandukuri (19 yrs.) to cancer while he was on treatment at Jimmy Fund/Dana-Farber in Boston. More about him at http://seshustrong.org/About.html Also in recent years few of our close friends and their family members have lost their lives for the same reason. During the 20 months of our hospital visits and inpatient admissions for 'Seshu' at Dana-Farber & Boston Children's Hospital, we have closely seen that so many kids and adults suffering with various types of cancer diseases. While sharing the emotions and feelings, the only one question that every cancer patient and families ask is, why me? or why my family? A short video of those feelings yet great confidence of the patients and their families can be seen at - http://nesn.com/2011/08/seshu-kandukuri-remembers-cancer-diagnosis-as-emotional-time-but-credits-jimmy-fund-for-raising-conf/ Inspiration: In 2011 when TAGB (a local community organization) Team participated in Jimmy Fund Walk, Seshu Kandukuri has completed the full marathon of 26.2 miles and reached the finish line and commented on his facebook wall at the end of the walk - 'I walk for those bald little heads I see every time I walk into the Jimmy Fund. They're too young to have experienced the finer things in life or to even know what hit them. All they know is how to smile and they put a smile on my face while they're at it. Keep doing you, little soldiers'. So with that inspiration, my family along with our family friends and supporters, the 'Seshu Strong' team (32 walkers) have participated in 2012 and raised $14,637.20 to Dana-Farber.
