New England Shiridi Sai Parivaar, spiritually initiated its 9th Annual Palkhi Utsav on May 24th and successfully completed 2 weeks of procession which will continue for another 4 weeks.
The initiation started off with Kakad Aarti to Baba followed by abhishekam, Baba’s alankar, Samuhik Palkhi Pooja under the guidance of the Priests. Kids cultural program was conducted where many kids participated and performed in the presence of our beloved Baba... Just like in the past years the volunteers came up with wonderful themes (Sai Paducah with the For the 1st week and Krishna with peacock for the 2nd week) decorated the Palkhi(Palanquin) with variety of vivid flowers and dazzling ornaments. Then Baba’s photo and the Paducah’s (The holy feet of Baba) are placed inside the palkhi on a beautiful and comfortable Asan (Seating)…One will be short of words to describe Baba’s grace and exquisiteness. Lakshmi kalash is taken along with the Palkhi held by Kanyas (young girls).
The procession kicked off in the temple premises with huge pomp and fervor and was taken to the devotee homes in various locations -Chelmsford, Acton, and Westford, Lunenburg in MA and Nashua, Manchester, Bow, Concord in NH and many more cities.
While the hosts perform pooja to Baba and Lakshmi Kalash, the devotees sing in a group the glory of the lord in the form of Bhajans from the heart with Divine energy and immerse in joy and happiness accompanied by the dhol which adds to the rhythm.Singing bhajan sanctifies the atmosphere producing sacred vibrations which can be felt even after many hours and teaches the mind to revel in the glory and majesty of God. As mentioned in “puranas†in kali Yuga doing the Sankeerthan (praising the lord in the form of a song) is the major form of worship. Just like during the olden days in Shirdi baba’s chavdi procession used to take place with Baba’s physical presence.
Devotees are humbly welcoming Baba into their homes and live calling out “Aao Sai†with pure love and devotion.
As we know Sai Baba is Sadguru and can make miracles in our lives if worshiped with Shraddha (Faith) and Saburi (Patience).
In the next few weeks, the plakhi will be taken to Maine, Rhode Island, and few other towns in MA and NH.
If you are living close by to the homes that plakhi will be visiting, and would like to witness the beautiful procession ,give a shoulder to Baba’s plakhi, obtain the joy in holding Paducah’s and take blessings please see the schedule and join the spiritual journey.
In this divine journey of Baba to devotee home’s, there will be no formal invite, anybody can join the procession, sing, dance, and get the eternal pleasure…
