05/20/2014 AIF SEEKS YOUTH, COLLEGE STUDENTS & YOUNG PROFESSIONALS FOR NEW CROWDFUNDING CHALLENGE From June 1 – 21, the American India Foundation (AIF) will be holding its first-ever AIF New England Challenge. This three-week crowdfunding campaign will give high school students, college students, and young professionals the opportunity to create their own personal online pages to raise funds for the Foundation’s Learning and Migration Program (LAMP). The goal is to raise a total of $6,000 that would provide 300 children of Indian migrant workers an education for one whole year. By taking part in this free campaign, participants will have the opportunity to: · Be a part of a campaign that can provide children of Indian migrant workers a proper education · Win prizes such as $100 Amazon gift cards · Receive free tickets to a celebration event that will feature networking opportunities with AIF Leadership including Venkat Srinivasan ( CEO of Rage Frameworks) and Raj Sharma (Head of The Sharma Group of Merrill Lynch Private Banking and Investment Group) · Obtain community service hours credit If you are or know any high school students, college students, or young professionals (22-38 years old), please have them visit My.AIF.org/NEChallenge to learn more and sign-up. The deadline to sign-up is Saturday, May 31 at midnight. Participants do not have to live in the New England area to participate. One hundred percent of the proceeds from this campaign will go towards directly supporting LAMP. Every year, over 72 million people in India migrate from their villages in search of better work. All too often, their children miss out on receiving an education. The LAMP Program provides an education, hostel, and food for these children.
