Tarun Khanna, Director SAI, Harvard Joins AIF US Advisory Council

The American India Foundation added two new members to its US advisory board. Both members have been long standing supporters of AIF  and have been invaluable supporters for years. Their wealth of knowledge and experience will be of great assistance as AIF moves forward.


Tarun Khanna
 is the Director of South Asia Institute and Harvard University Jorge Paulo Lemann Professor. An Indian-born American academic, author, and an economic strategist, he has also been the Director of Harvard University’s South Asia initiative since 2010. He is also the Faculty Chair for HBS activities in India. He joined the HBS faculty in 1993 after obtaining a B.S. degree in electrical engineering & computer science from Princeton University (1988), and a Ph.D. in business economics from Harvard Business School (1993). His areas of interests include Diasporas, economic development, emerging markets, globalization, international business, and strategy. In 2007, he was nominated to be a Young Global Leader (under 40) by the World Economic Forum. In 2009, he was elected a Fellow of the Academy of International Business. He lives in Newton, MA, with his wife, daughter and son

Bakul Joshi is the founder and President of Multiple Access California Corporation. Multiple Access is located in Fremont, California. Prior to Multiple Access, Bakul Joshi held Senior Level Management positions in Sales, Product Marketing and Branch Management at Unisys (formerly Burroughs Corp.) Bakul Joshi has also held Director and Officer level positions at Silicon Valley Start Up companies. Of Indian origin, Bakul Joshi was born and brought up in Mombasa, Kenya. He holds a Masters Degree in Business from University of Baroda, India. Bakul is a founding Charter Member, Chairperson of Monthly Events (1996 - 2000) and was the first Executive Director of the Indus Entrepreneurs (TiE) in Silicon Valley until August 2000. Bakul Joshi was also a founder and past President of the Indo Canada Chamber of Commerce in Toronto, Canada, and is a member of the Advisory Board for the Asia Society of Northern California.
