Each year the band Din Check gets together and puts together a fun entertaining evening featuring Bollywood numbers. This year the event was held on April 12, 2014 at the Keefe Technical School Auditorium in Framingham, MA.

Artists Jolly Bhatia, Sam Bhambhani, Meenakshi Rana, Sam Rao, Kira Taj, Anandini Sekar, Kamal Dasu, Sarmishta Samantaray, Anudha Gupta, Niel Bhambhani, Abhiram Rao and others came together to bring to life some timeless and other contemporary melodies from Indian films. They also partnered with local dancers to have a live presentation of dance to some of the beautiful songs.

A very special feature of the Din Check band is the orchestra, which plays beautiful music. Check out the orchestral music here.

The perfectly synchronized dance by the Mangalat sisters to Dola Re Dola, the unusual and superb jugalbandi between Irish Tap dance and Shikha Bajpai’s Bhangra, the lovely dance by Nikita Punjabi’s group, fabulous solos by Sharayu Mahale and Shirin Bakre made the stage come alive as the singers belted out the Bollywood hits. There was also a fashion show. Jolly Bhatia is always such fun and connects well with the audience which makes the show very entertaining.

It does take a lot to put such complicated show together and kudos to the Din Check team for pulling it off again this year. This year’s show was a fundraiser for CRY, an organization that supports children.
