04/23/2014 Jackfruit Kolumbu 1 raw mango For tempering: oil as required Sauté onion,jeera,pepper,dhaniya,dry chilly,channa daal,little curry leaves together with oil till golden brown. Add coconut and tomato(whole) ,mix once evenly. Let it cool and grind to paste with turmeric powder. In oil season mustard seeds,urad dal,curry leaves . Add onion and green chilly,sauté it . Add chopped mango and drumstick,peeled jack fruit seeds and sauté lightly. Add grinded paste,salt,required water and cook well. Add tamarind pulp ,coriander leaves and boil it till medium thick. ---------------------------------------------------------------------- Masala Mustard Jackfruit Ingredients 2 cups raw jackfruit, diced To be ground into a paste Other ingredients 1 tsp mustard seeds ( rai / sarson) Method Boil 2 cups of water, add the jackfruit, turmeric powder and salt and cook covered till the jackfruit is tender. Drain and discard the water. Heat 1 tablespoon oil, add the mustard seeds and allow them to crackle. Add the split black lentils, dry red chilli and curry leaves.
