Over two hundred people spent a wonderful Sunday afternoon cruising the Boston Harbor while enjoying a wonderful meal and having a great time. The India Association of Greater Boston served as the host for the cruise, which set sail on July 21, 2013.
“IAGB organized a cruise for the first time during the Golden Jubilee year, in 2012. The cruise was quite a hit last and hence we decided to make it an annual event,†said IAGB President, Amrit Soni.
Great food, fun games and DJ dancing made the cruise a fun event. Monica Gill, Anil Saigal, Preetesh Shrivastav, Agya Soni and Ranjani Saigal kept the young and old engaged with Bingo, Trivia, Anthakshari and other fun games. Sameer Asthana’s Dhol playing added to the gaiety. Lata Mundkur, Rama Rao, Lakshmi and other talented singers kept the audience entertained with some popular Bollywood.
The cruise attracts people of all ages. “This is great event for all family members to enjoy. I brought my granddaughter to the event and she and I are having a great time," said an attendee who decided to take the train to Boston so he could also let his grandchild enjoy a train ride.
While some enjoyed the view of the harbor from the deck, yet others actively participated in the activities. “I am new to the area and this is a great way to meet new people,†said another attendee.
The rain Gods cooperated and showers that hit the suburbs did not touch Boston. It was a wonderful event and attendees are already looking forward to the cruise the next year.
