UTV Motion Pictures and Red Chillies Entertainment brings Chennai Express starring none other than the king of romance Shah Rukh Khan with music by Vishal-Shekar. The expectations are high with this potent combination.

The track opens with the fast paced, high on energy dance number One Two Three Four' . The song has heavy south Indian flavor (lyrics included) infused with North sensibilities to please both. Heavy orchestrations and percussions lend the song that authentic desi touch. Hamsika Iyer of 'Chhammak Chhallo' fame along with Vishal Dadlani render the song. This is sure to be a hit number.

The next number is a Tamil sequence which opens 'Titli' . It is a melodic love ballad.  And Vishal-Shekar have done a wonderful job. Chinmayee and Gopi Sunder  render this song beautifully. ‘Titli' also has a dub step version .  'Tera Rastaa Chhodoon Na' is another melodiously rich smooth flowing composition. It  is a song about keeping promises and to be with each other through thick and thin. Amitabh Bhattacharya's rendition is good and so is Anusha Mani.

'Nadaswaram' and synthesized 'shehnai' piece kick starts 'Kashmir Main, Tu Kanyakumari' and is a wonderful confluence of both the worlds in terms of musical instruments as well as tune. The zany and humorous nature is kept intact through some wonderful lyrics and Arijit Singh, Sunidhi Chauhan and Neeti Mohun sing superbly in tandem.

'Ready Steady Po'  is a nice  contemporary and youth friendly number with a lot of by rap and hip-hop beats. A host of singers Brodha V, Smokey, Enkore, Natalie Di Luccio and Vishal sing it beautifully.

The zany title track, 'Chennai Express', is another super-fast paced composition that can be used, either in the beginning of the film or end roll credits, as the names of the star cast and crew like Rohit, SRK , VS etc appear. SP Balasubramaniam, Salman Khan's voice of yore, is simply fantastic and it's his show all the way. In fact he is made to sing in that mode as well and Jonita Gandhi gives able company.

The album closes with the 'Chennai Express Mashup', which is a good mix of all the main songs.

Overall this is a nice album.
