Java Joshi Displays 'Folk Dances Of India' At The Lexington Open Art Studio

05/06/2013

Java is a Lexington based artist who likes to express herself with oil on canvas through her vibrant and colorful paintings. Between her last years collection of “Indian Village” and this year’s collection of “Indian Folk Dances” Java has successfully highlighted richness of Indian lifestyles and folk. Her connection to roots in India has been very much appreciated by the American art community as they have given a special place to Java in the local art community.

Java recently had the third straight year of successful show with Lexington Open Studios where she exhibited her recent collection of paintings based on “Indian Folk Dances”. This collection was much appreciated by audiences from all ethnicities and not just visitors from Indian origin. Based on the response at LOS 2013, Java was also invited to showcase her work at the Citizens World Art Fair at Cary Hall Lexington.

Java’s work was also selected in a juried art show celebrating Lexington’s 300th anniversary during month of March. Java is now gearing up for her featured solo exhibit at Cary Memorial Library, Lexington during the month of October. Other upcoming events where you can check out Java’s or her students work are – En plein air (live painting event) along the Lexington bike path where few local artists will paint in open in front of public and her students Art Show in June.

Java is also spreading the love and passion of art in little kids by teaching students ranging from pre-school to high school in the Lexington area.
