05/04/2013 INTERNATIONALLY RENOWNED AUTHOR GURCHARAN DAS SPEAKSAT AMERICAN INDIA FOUNDATION MAY 30th EVENT On
May 30th, the American India Foundation’s New England Chapter, in
partnership with the Boston University India Initiatives, will host ‘An Evening
with Gurcharan Das’. The event will feature remarks from internationally renowned
author and public intellectual figure Gurcharan Das. "I am
excited to be a part of the AIF event next month in Boston,†says Mr. Das. “I look
forward to speaking about private success and public failure in India." Mr.
Das has had an illustrious career in the private sector as well as a bestselling
author. He was the former CEO of Procter & Gamble India and has authored
internationally recognized books such as ‘India Unbound’ and ‘The
Difficult of Being Good’. He is a
frequent commentator for CNN, BBC, and PBS. This will
mark the first event of the year for the American India Foundation’s New
England Chapter. The chapter has experienced significant growth in membership
and fundraising since its inception, raising more than $1 million in its last
fundraising gala to go towards AIF’s programs in India. "At the
chapter level, AIF holds events like this to engage a broader audience in the socio-economic
issues facing India today and inspire them to get involved in bringing about
change,†says Nirmala Garimella, who leads the American India Foundation’s New
