Press Release 04/11/2013
This year at TiECON East, there are 10 engaging panels
for attendees to choose from – 1 Women’s
Keynote Panel and 9 panels featuring the hottest startups
in Technology, Life Science, and Education. The idea for this year’s women’s panel was set in
motion with Massachusetts’s first female senator being elected last year. Moments
like this are occurring everywhere as women make strides in driving businesses
and revenues. It is time to showcase women who have enjoyed different successes
so that we can continue to drive the change that Sheryl Sandberg’s “Lean Inâ€
movement has started and recognize the impact that women are making. The TiE Women’s Keynote panel features Janet Kraus (Circles
& Spire), Anita Brearton (FashionPlaytes.com), and Zenobia Moochala (Care.com)
and is moderated by Jean Hammond (LearnLaunch). This diverse panel will discuss
ways to ensure that the next generation of women can fully leverage their
potential and contribute to the future. Hear their stories, celebrate their accomplishments
and get empowered on your unique journey! Throughout Friday May 3rd, there are nine panels across three tracks: Technology,
Startup,
and Disruptive Innovations. TiECON
East 2013 is the only entrepreneurial conference that offers the convergence of
multiple sectors under one roof. This year’s topics
include Funding, Building Teams, Exits, Big Data, Enterprise, Mobile, Personalized
Medicine, Gaming, and Education. The Startup Track panels feature top-notch speakers
from local companies. The Fundraising Panel
includes VCs from Fairhaven Capital, Launchpad Venture Group, Longworth Venture
Partners, Nextview Ventures and Sigma Prime Ventures. How
to Build a Winning Team panel features CEOs and VCs who have
built great teams including Antonio Rodriguez of Matrix Partners, Don Bulens of
Unidesk, and Steve Papa of Endeca. The Exits Panel
features the CEOs of 3 local companies who have achieved an exit through IPO or
M&A: David Friend of Carbonite, Steven Kaufer of TripAdvisor, and Tom
Ebling of Demandware. The Big Data panel
features big names from EMC, IBM, and MIT who will discuss the opportunities
that are present in the space as well as what kind of solutions companies and
users and looking for. The Enterprise panel discussions
will focus on where opportunities are arising as the sector makes a comeback.
The Mobile
panel will cover everything startups need to know if they
plan on tackling this increasingly growing sector. New to the conference this year is the Gaming panel.
This panel includes companies and organizations that are shaping the industry.
With Massachusetts leading in the gaming industry, this panel is surely going
to be an active discussion. This year’s Life Sciences panel focuses on Personalized
Medicine and how this form of treatment will eventually become
an industry standard. The conference would not be complete without an Education panel
discussing the disruptions that are happening and what innovations are
resulting from it. With so much going on, TiECON East 2013 is a conference
you don’t want to miss. Join us on May 2 – 3, 2013 at the Cambridge Marriot,
Kendall Square and get empowered by the success stories of these companies. You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
