The Valentine's Day Dance party is one of Child Rights and You (CRY) Boston's signature events. “Dance Your Heart Out†was the theme of this year’s party and dance they did! Guests danced to foot-tapping music for a great cause while enjoying their belated Valentine’s Day on February 15th at the Mantra Lounge in downtown Boston.
In recent years CRY Boston had to turn away people because they were at capacity, so this year they decided to move up to a larger space, which really paid off! The upscale venue with an open bar and complimentary appetizers meant guests had to take a break once in a while to replenish their energy only to hit the dance floor with vigor again.
The event featured DJ Dash, an award winning DJ from the New England area, who spun song after song while mixing Indian and Western music and appealing to different tastes in music. He even got the crowd involved by taking song requests from some enthusiastic guests.
With support from benevolent sponsors like Kay Pee Jewelers (Natick) and Global Flavors (Nashua) the event rocked on past midnight. Raffle prizes were drawn to cheers from guests. Kay Pee Jewelers contributed two gift certificates for beautiful 22 karat jewelry and the Blue Jeans Bar on Newbury Street gave away a raffle prize for a special two hour event at the bar.
The fact that guests return every year knowing they are going to have a great time, while supporting a worthy cause, is a testament in itself about the quality of events organized by CRY Boston. CRY Boston boasts of an energetic and passionate group of volunteers who take pride in doing their part in organizing successful fundraisers. They keep churning out one great event after another and like old wine the events only keep getting better!
