Suffolk University has renamed the New Production Innovation Competition as "The Dr. Sushil Bhatia Competition for Innovative Ideas" in honor of Dr. Sushil Bhatia, Entrepreneur and Executive in Residence, Sawyer Business School, Suffolk University.

This year will be the 7th year of the New Product Innovation Competition (NPIC). Since the competition started, the number of entries per year have grown from 27 to over 250.  The award money has also increased from $5K per year to $100K per year. As the competition has grown, the entry criteria has be revised to accept ideas beyond products only and now accepts entries in services, web applications, apps, mobile applications and industry specific applications..
