Vidya Balan’s much-anticipated marriage to UTV CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur happened on Saturday December 15th, 2012 at the Green Mile bungalow in Bandra. While early reports seemed to suggest that the marriage had taken place at 4.45 am at the Sri Subramania temple in Chembur, preparations for the ceremony were happening at a bungalow in Bandra. The initial reports seem to have been a throw-off in a bid to keep the proceedings as private as possible. The wedding ceremonies took about an hour and is rumoured to have been a mix of Punjabi and South Indian styles. The bride wore a mustard saree with a green border and a pink blouse, designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The groom wore a yellow kurta and a pink turban.

Such occasions are family time. I would like to be around with my family rather than elsewhere.` So does she ever see herself being part of such a gala? `Not for now,` she points out adding, `Only if the situation is such that my folks are away, but New Year is when we are all together. So the possibility does not exist.’

`There should be a death sentence for rapists. Such things have no role in our life. I feel disgusted after hearing such things. For me, this is a third grade crime. There should be a norm that if a rapist goes to jail, he should be beaten till death. Indian society needs to be dabang (bold) in their approach. I recently read a news where a girl was being molested and people standing nearby were making videos on their phones. This is not the real India.
