Vidya Balan’s much-anticipated marriage to UTV CEO Siddharth Roy Kapur happened on Saturday December 15th, 2012 at the Green Mile bungalow in Bandra. While early reports seemed to suggest that the marriage had taken place at 4.45 am at the Sri Subramania temple in Chembur, preparations for the ceremony were happening at a bungalow in Bandra. The initial reports seem to have been a throw-off in a bid to keep the proceedings as private as possible. The wedding ceremonies took about an hour and is rumoured to have been a mix of Punjabi and South Indian styles. The bride wore a mustard saree with a green border and a pink blouse, designed by Sabyasachi Mukherjee. The groom wore a yellow kurta and a pink turban.

The advent of the New Year is definitely the best time to rake in the moolah for B-Town stars, especially for the female brigade. The turn of the year comes with its celebrations and the entire spectrum from the top-notch heroines to the item girls find it the perfect opportunity to put on their dancing shoes. The fee charged depends on the number of movies and songs they have in their kitty. Several B-Town actresses have over the years got jiggy at such events but Sonakshi Sinha prefers not to. She says, `Instead of doing a show, I'd rather spent time with my family on New Year's Eve.` Considering that Sona has been extremely busy shooting back-to-back for her projects throughout the year, she would like to spend the last moments of the passing year and herald the new one with her near and dear ones. When my folks are all together, why would I be elsewhere at a show? Such occasions are family time. I would like to be around with my family rather than elsewhere.` So does she ever see herself being part of such a gala? `Not for now,` she points out adding, `Only if the situation is such that my folks are away, but New Year is when we are all together. So the possibility does not exist.’

On the red carpet of a recent awards show Rakhi Sawant was heard saying that Deepika Padukone, who was attired in a white and black stripes gown, looked like a zebra! Ouch. Perhaps she rolled herself at a zebra crossing on the way!

Bollywood Condemning the gage rape of young woman in New Delhi

Jaya Bachchan broke down in the Rajya Sabha while condemning the gangrape of a young woman in New Delhi

Jaya is not the only B-Town folk to show her ire and demand immediate action against the culprits. Several other stars have joined in the movement to take a firm stand. They have been expressing their opinions at events or on their micro-blogging sites.

Priyanka Chopra
`This is not just a crime against women. It's a crime against society. With so much being said about how women need to dress appropriately or behave appropriately. I find this whole dialogue absurd. A woman is not raped because she's out at night or wearing a short dress or drinking. She's raped cause someone bloody raped her! And there is no excuse or explanation for that!! ...

What kind of a democracy are we living in? Is this India shining?? Is this even India? Where is the fear if the law?

Salman Khan
`There should be a death sentence for rapists. Such things have no role in our life. I feel disgusted after hearing such things. For me, this is a third grade crime. There should be a norm that if a rapist goes to jail, he should be beaten till death. Indian society needs to be dabang (bold) in their approach. I recently read a news where a girl was being molested and people standing nearby were making videos on their phones. This is not the real India.

Amitabh Bachchan
The gang rape in Delhi and its details are simply unmentionable... punish the culprits, with the most severe punishment ever. But also let us introspect! What is going wrong with our society, our people. Naari ke roop mein hum pooja karte hain Durga, Kali, Lakshmi ki .. jo shraddha hum yahan pradaan karte hain, apne desh ki mahilaon pe kyun nahin karte... it is an act of a demon, a monster that deserves the harshest punishment; a punishment that should set an example for any such perpetrator in the future.`
