Press Release 12/04/2012
Dwarkamai's first annual Boston Diwali Night was held at Marshall Middle School in Billerica on Sunday 18th Nov 2012 from 3:30 pm onwards. There were lots of different stalls, delicious food, and most important a wonderfully arranged show package for all ages! Dwarkamai temple arranged a Rangoli Exhibition, regional sweets stall, a Mehendi stall, an Avon mini shop, and foreign clothing and jewelry stalls as well.
The itinerary for the show was wonderful. The show started off with a beautiful devotional music concert by the ‘Leher’ Group. The show had just started but they were a show stopper! Next there was a wonderful, Mediterranean act by Celia who wonderfully balanced a sword on her head, and her hand! This show was followed by classical dance performances by the ‘Triveni School of Dance’. The dances were very well choreographed and everyone appreciated the beautiful subtle classical moves. This was followed by an amazing juggling act by Guy Collins! He did some wonderful tricks like plate spinning, tight roping, and knife juggling! The crowd loved him! Lastly, there was a lovely vocal performance by ‘Chitralekha Dixit’. She sang many olden time Hindi songs by famous playback singers like Lata Mangeshkar and some regional language songs as well.
The show was brought to life by the outstanding technical group handling audio and video, wonderful decorating committee, wonderful M.C.s, and well managed dedicated volunteers. The food was served in the cafeteria and it was phenomenal. The Boston Diwali Night was a big success for Dwarkamai temple and it hopes to make it even better next year! Don’t miss the next opportunity to go for the concert brought to you by Dwarkamai Shirdi Sai Temple in Billerica.
