Cooper is best-known for his large public art pieces, made in collaboration with children, hospital patients, students, and other constituencies. Cooper’s work is in several major museums, as well as corporate and private collections. Antonio Puri, “Death of an Immortal†Antonio Puri’s art is his means of identifying with the universe. He uses symbols, forms, and spatial concern as a means to express his need for universality, and his inspiration comes from the unity between the microscopic and the macrocosmic. Puri’s painting process is designed to bridge the gap between the known and the unknown. By using materials that resist one another, he is able to reveal several layers of paints, which would ordinarily be covered up. By introducing a hybrid of techniques, symbols and various mediums, Puri hopes to create Oneness. Manika Srivastav, “Behind the Prayers†Born in India, Manika Srivastav is an artist with a global perspective. She has lived and shown her work in Europe, the Middle East, and the Far East. Vivid colors portray the myriad emotions and experiences from her wide ranging travels and interactions with people from different parts of the globe. Her art can be called reactive, as she gets her inspiration from issues and happenings around the world. Vani Sayeed, “004 My Country†Vani Sayeed is an artist and interior designer who was born and raised in India. She earned her BFA at the Sir J. J. School of Art, in Mumbai. Vani moved to the USA in 1998 and obtained her MFA in design from the University of Iowa. Vani’s aesthetic is strongly influenced by her evolving personal cross-cultural narrative. Her passion for art and architecture combined with over a decade of living in USA have helped her develop an eclectic and unique style that both respects tradition and embraces new ideas. Lenore Sempert, “Katha Kali†Lenore Sempert is an artist who successfully pairs expression with spontaneity. Her works, inspired by travel, are poignant and filled with layers of meaning. Her goal is to create paintings that breathe and expand the space around them. ----------------------------------------------------- Curated By Manika Srivastav & Mika Hornyak (Flatfile Boston) We would also like to thank the Harvard Business School for providing us with the exhibition space, without which this event would not be possible You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
