The 3rd Annual IANH Chess tournament was held on June 9th, 2012. There were about 25 enthusiastic chess player who gathered early morning at YMCA Nashua,NH to play their own rounds. Two age groups were arranged, one from age 5 to 15 years and another 15 years and older. The players challenged each other and showed a well received sportsmanship. They tried their best to win each round as they progressed to play 5 rounds for each age group. In the age group of 5 to 15, the first place was held by Kaival Shah, Second was Suhas Katikaneni, Anish Kammila thirds place, Anirudh Bachiraju was in Fourth place, Akhil Kammila was in Fifth place, Sibi ravi was in Sixth Place, Samarth Shah was in Seventh with very small differences in the total points.
In the age group of 15 years and older, the first place was tie between Ram Kanchrala and Kanagavel Rajanwhile while second place was a tie between Kishore Tiruveedhula, Narendra Sharma, Sanjay Shah and Vijay Nagaraju .
It was a joint effort of IANH volunteer Jyoti Sharma, Vandana Dhakar and Anmol Wadhwa. Kavyashree Mallanna, founder of Celestial Minds Chess Learning (CMCL) helped arranged the games along with Vaishali Shah member of CMCL.
IANH organizes the chess tournament every year in the Greater Boston area to encourage the local player to participate in the game and as an effort of promoting the sports in Indian community .
