Press Release 01/17/2012
The Network of South Asian Women (NetSAW) celebrated a year of successful programming by holding a special networking event at Bollywood Grill in Framingham in December. The event titled, “How Successful Women Succeed†was well attended and a great success as women from diverse backgrounds came together for an afternoon of productive networking, sharing, and learning.
The event, organized together with Professional Indian Women’s Network (PIWN) as the event partner, began with networking, chai and appetizers provided by Bollywood Grill, and a welcome address by Hanishi Ali, founder of NetSAW.
The program guest was Ms. Indira Patel, President & CEO of New England Office Supply. Ms Patel whose business is ranked as one of the Top 100 Woman-led businesses in the state, and one of the Top 500 woman owned businesses in the US, shared her interesting success story, talked about her career path, her challenges, and her work/life balance and answered attendees’ questions candidly.
Paul Papierski, a certified professional coach, veteran trainer, speaker, and owner of See Change Now Coaching and the Learning and Development Manager for the American Cancer Society delivered an insightful training session and taught the audience first-hand the importance of goal setting and how to achieve individual goals.
Hanishi Ali said, “It was inspiring to hear Indiraji’s story. The dynamism and enthusiasm at this event was truly infectious. It was wonderful to collaborate with PIWN, to meet other like-minded women, build camaraderie, and I am excited to see NetSAW grow and hope that more women continue to participate and contribute to the NetSAW community and in turn be a valuable resource for each other.â€
Neelam Wali, Co-chair of PIWN said, “The best part of our collaboration was the togetherness we created between the two groups. I always feel we as women have so many life lessons to share with one another, only if we can part some of that knowledge in a very constructive way to one another. Indiraji's struggles and rise to where she is today is a great story. If we all can remember this one saying, every problem has a solution, you may not like the solution but it is with in your reach.â€
NetSAW’s mission is to share knowledge, personal and professional development opportunities, and to empower women executives, professionals and business owners by helping them build connections and grow their businesses and careers.
NetSAW is an active, dynamic, volunteer-based organization, whose programming in the past year has involved topics such as “Planting the seeds of your Networkâ€; “Women and Wealth: Must Know Basicsâ€; “Empowering Yourself and Positive Thinkingâ€; “Impact of The Tax Relief, Unemployment Insurance Reauthorization and Job Creation Act of 2010 on individuals and businessesâ€; “A perfect pitch with a unique value propositionâ€; “Financial Fitness for a Secure Retirementâ€; “Healthcare Reform : What it means to me, my family and my businessâ€; and “How Successful Women Succeed.†Our upcoming seminar on February 19th is on “How to Network Professionally online with LinkedIn.â€
