United India Association of New England(UIANE) celebrated its yearly New Years' Eve party at the beautiful Westin Waltham hotel on 12/31/11.The event theme 'Mauja hi Mauja' was 'sold out' three weeks before the day of the event and was attended by about 450 people.
The rocking music,scintillating lights,delicious food,flowing bars,Glitz & Glamour in the warm company of friends & families is what made this well organized and well coordinated event so special!
The party started at 8 pm with appetizers by 'Masala Art' served in the spacious lobby of Westin Hotel.The doors to the ballroom opened at 8.30 pm which looked mesmerizing with oval dinner tables decorated in theme colors of black and gold! As people checked in through the reception to the ballroom,friends & families mingled together to say goodbye to 2011 and welcome 2012.The President of UIANE,Dr. Neela Gandhi welcomed everybody and declared the party open with the first song of the evening Mauja hi Mauja. It was hard to resist dancing to the rocking beats by DJ B4U from New York.Soon the dance floor was filled with enthusiastic dancers.There were also over a hundred children at the event who had the option to be in a supervised children's room with kids' activities,movies,with the comfort of blankets and pillows etc or be in the banquet hall with their parents.Some time was allotted for kids' & teens dance on the floor.
The dinner was served at 10.30 pm followed by raffle conducted by Dr. Seema Arora. The lucky winners won attractive prizes like hotel night stays,restaurant gift certificates,jewellery,tooth whitening package,ipods,etc.Excitement started to build up as time approached to midnight.The dance floor was full at this time and people ready in gold & black hats and tiaras and noisemakers to start the countdown to step into 2012! The ball drop live from New York was projected on
big screens.
As the clock struck twelve,friends and families came together to give
warm hugs and wishing the best to each other in the New Year.The party ended around 1 pm as everyone left in high spirits & extremely satisfied.
The Co-Chairs of the evening,President Dr. Neela Gandhi and Vice President Dr. Seema Arora said that it was the fifth consecutive successful year of a great New Years Eve celebration,one of the most popular event in town,and that this would not have been possible without the extreme hard work,planning and dedication of all committee members and volunteers of this non-profit organization.
