Members and friends of Chinmaya Mission Boston are eagerly looking forward to the Annual Diwali Banquet. The gala event is scheduled for the evening of Saturday, Nov. 5th at the Wyndham Boston Hotel in Andover, MA. The special banquet marks the celebration of Diwali festival. It also serves as a platform for the mission to reach out to the larger community, and communicate its various activities and programs.
Lakshmi Durvasula, one of the coordinators of the event, is all smiles when asked about the highlights of the event. She promises that this will be a big event that every guest will enjoy, irrespective of their age! Says Lakshmi, "this event was billed as 'Taste of India' when it started about 10 years back. Today, it is a big gathering of our members and friends to celebrate Diwali and have some quality time together."
Naveen Agarwal, another coordinator, says that the organizers are keen to involve kids in the event. Says Naveen, "special activities and performances involving children are also among the highlights of this event; we would like for them to have a colorful Diwali!" The mission is also bringing out a special souvenir to mark the event. It will portray all of Chinmaya Mission's programs and offerings. "Local organizations and businesses are also invited to take advantage of the communication space in the widely circulated souvenir," said Naveen.
The organizers invite residents of the Greater Boston area to participate in this event, and enjoy Diwali celebrations. As in the past, this year's event also promises mouth-watering array of snacks and great food. Guests will be treated to some of the best taste and cuisine. Kids will have a lot of fun activities under able supervision. Last but not the least, there is live music and entertainment that promises to dish out old and new hits alike!
