Ever wondered what’s cooking in the MIT labs that have applications in the Indian market? Come to the MIT India Conference on Sep. 23, 2011 to find out answers to these questions and much more.
The inaugural annual MIT India Conference is a joint initiative of the MIT Schools of Science, Engineering, Architecture and Planning, Humanities and Social Sciences and Management. As a part of the broader MIT India Initiative, launched in 2007, this conference will cover important topics such as technology, innovation, health care, finance and governance in India today. The conference will be inaugurated by MIT Chancellor Eric Grimson and will feature eminent speakers and panelists, including Narayana Murthy (Founder-Chairman of Infosys Limited), Desh Deshpande (Chairman/Co-founder - Sycamore Networks, Inc), Jay Panda (Member of Parliament, Orissa), Harish Hande (Managing Director, SELCO), Venkatesh Narayanamurti (Professor, Harvard University), and Vini Mahajan (Joint Secretary, Prime Minister’s Office).

About MIT-India Initiative The primary mission of the MIT-India Initiative is to foster collaboration between the faculty and students at MIT, and faculty and students at academic and research institutions in India. Among its specific goals are enabling the creation of long-term projects involving groups from both MIT and Indian institutions; and promoting inclusive growth, sustainable development, educational leadership, entrepreneurship, new models of governance, and advanced, results-focused research in India.
