Boston Pledge Bestowed Euphoric Experience Through Eclectic Euphoria

Celebrating 10th year of its evolution, the non-profit organization Boston Pledge, in its Spring Fundraising drive on April-24th presented an amalgamation of Indian Classical dances and contemporary music.

About 400 people attended the event.

The gorgeous sunny afternoon started with networking event followed by dance and musical program. There were a variety of stalls lined up outside the auditorium. Through these stall the organization gave opportunity to many budding entrepreneurs and charitable organizations to showcase their work and spread the word.

Local Artist Moushumi Santra showcased her work through her beautiful paintings.
Also, local entrepreneur Ms Ambika Mangtani set a beautiful display of colorful Indian jewelry and clothing.

The charitable organization “Prosperity Candle “who work for empowering women displayed the work of enterprising women from places like Afghanistan, Haiti and Rwanda.


 
Following a brief introduction  by Dr. Manju Sheth  the anchor, Ms. Susri Anuradha, who led this fundraising effort welcomed the audience on behalf of the Boston Pledge.   Mr. Partha Ghosh, chairman of the organization  introduced Boston Pledge and its work to the audience. “ The mission of the Boston Pledge’s is to continually develop and perfect a dynamic process which will enable people in privileged regions engage with socio-economic issues in less privileged regions”,said Ghosh

With that, the organizers kicked off the event, aptly named ‘Eclectic euphoria’, an afternoon celebrating  moments of triumphant oneness within a diverse group of people brought together by a collective sense of commitment to public service.
 
The show began with the exquisite dance program. Navarasa Nayikas. The dance production, coordinated by Ms. Ranjani Saigal and Ms. Jeyanthi Ghatraju, featured various Indian classical dance and showcased nine rasas or dramatic moods based on the tales of Nayikaas (heroines) from the epic age of Mahabharata and Ramayana Sridevi Ajai Thirumalai, Jeyanthi Ghatraju ,  Neena Gulahti, Ranjani Saigal, Thenu Rajan, Jayashree Bala Rajamani, Jayashree Mohapatra, Mouli Pal , Mari Shakti Muthuswamy, Sushila Bambhani, Sangeetha Vijey,  and Sujatha Meyyapan participated. The dancers represented a beautiful play of excellent footwork, visual and colorful expression of emotions, most importantly each of the personalities were perfect representations of their spiritual and artistic senses. Over a period of 75 minutes an audience was fully captivated by the most rhythmic atmospheres the dancers created.

The musical program by Lahari presented various multilingual hit numbers from Kannada, Tamil and Hindi Film songs. The songs from popular movies like 3 Idiots got the audience on their foot and humming along with the singers.

The food from Meena’s Kitchen was much in demand as after the dance program people were seen in long queues to enjoy the Indian delicacy of Samosa, Pav Bhaaji etc.

“ It was totally exquisite.. I am looking forward to more of these soul enriching experiences that remind me of home away from home "  said a viewer.
 
The total fund raised through this event is approximately $15000. Apart from the money raised they were about 200 Leather Wallets donated to Boston Pledge through one of the patrons.

During this event, many non Boston Pledge members helped because they believed in the cause. Some among them are Mr. Jay Srinivasan, Mr. Sachin Chat and Ms Divya Srinivasan. There were many other people who donated even though they couldn’t attend the event. Ms Devika Mukherjee, one of the donors said although she would have loved to attend the show but she would still donate because she believes the organization is working towards a great cause.

After seeing the dance pictures and knowing about the event, Boston Pledge have been contacted by people from Bay area that they want to open a Boston Pledge chapter there. They applauded the cause for which the organization is working and want to support it
