After two successful showings last year, New England
audience got another opportunity to watch the comedy master Paresh Rawal’s
Kishen vs Kanahiya at Reading High
School Arts Center on April 3, 2011. A hilarious comedy with a unique message
left all the audiences laughing. While
every dialogue made the audience laugh the play had a deep message beneath. It is a story of an atheist’s fight with God
which questions some of the extreme religious practices. Kishen Lal is the only one to lose his pawn shop during an
earthquake. He is not able to claim insurance because the incident is
considered to be an ‘act of God’ and he is not covered. Being a businessman he files a case against
almighty and wants the God to pay for his damages. To his wits, Kishen
Lal(Paresh Rawal) summons religious leaders and the insurance agent to the court.
What ensues is a thought provoking drama
filled with comic dialogues to lighten the mood. The play had thought provoking dialogues , such as, “Chamatkar
kar sakta hoon isliye Krishna nahin hoon.
Krishna hoon isliye chamatkar
karta hoonâ€. At the same time Paresh Rawal enthralled audience with quip retorts like “ Inta maroonga ki Google wale bhi
search nahi kar payenge.†Along with the ever-versatile Paresh Rawal was his team of talented TV and stage artists
including Jimit Trivedi, Chirag Vora, Ankit trivedi, Namrata Pathak, Puja
Gupta, Pradeep Vengurlekar, Saunil Daru, Vaibhav Binivale, Kunal Ravrani and
others. Eshani Shah of Dhoom Entertainment made the show possible in New England region. You may also access this article through our web-site http://www.lokvani.com/ |
