The evening opened with a soulful duet “Ayen Hain Samjhane Logâ€. From the get go it was evident this was an evening that was going be filled with music that truly touched the soul. Beautiful presentations including Kisi Ranjish ko Hawa ho, Man Re Tu Kahe Na Dhir Dhare, Ranjish hi Sahi, Agar Mujhse Mohabbat hai and others took us down memory lane.
Mohan’s wonderful voice reached out and touched the listener’s soul. Shraddha’s classical training shone through as she handled complicated numbers with great ease and created delightful presentations. Newcomer Shua’s voice, musicality and her understanding of the words gave a special touch to her presentations.
The musical show was tremendously enhanced by the wonderful compeering by Kumkum Malik whose connections with the giants in the world of music allowed her to bring tidbits about these giants that were hitherto unknown to audiences. Her knowledge of Urdu and her poetical talents made her compeering a treat to listen to.
The musical accompaniments and the sound engineering by Jawed Wahid elevated the musical quality.
The funds collected from the evening’s presentation were donated to Pratham. Vikas Taneja and Raj Munde highlighted the great work that Pratham is doing. Recently Pratham won the Skoll Foundation Award.
